The German giants cruised to a comfortable 10-0 victory over the Australian outfit in their Club World Cup Group C opener.

Jamal Musiala scored a hat-trick while Kingsley Coman, Michael Olise and Thomas Müller netted doubles, while Sacha Boey also got his name on the scoresheet.

Bayern will now turn their attention to their second group stage clash against Argentinian side Boca Juniors when they meet at the Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday, June 21.

The Bavarians find themselves sitting at the top of Group C with one point from their first game, while Auckland sit at the foot of the table with zero points.

“We don’t need praise or anything like that right now, we just did our job,” Kompany said.

“We played very seriously. We did what we had to do, and perhaps the goal difference in this group is not unimportant.

“That’s why the ten goals are perhaps also important for this group stage.”
